At Alpha Xi Delta’s 1957 National Convention in Edgewater Park, Mississippi, the Constitution of the Alpha Xi Delta Foundation was accepted and trustees to administer the Foundation were elected by National Chapter. For more than fifty years, the Foundation has furthered Alpha Xi Delta’s purpose of preparing strong, capable, intelligent women to lead our Fraternity and our world.
In its early years, the Foundation administered all aspects of Alpha Xi Delta’s community service programs. Today, Alpha Xi Delta Fraternity maintains responsibility for promotion of community service among its members while the Foundation raises funds to support the Fraternity’s efforts in helping members.
The Foundation has maximized support for Alpha Xi Delta’s leadership and educational programs, promotion of the well-being of children, and her members. Gifts to the Foundation support:
- Alpha Xi Delta’s Leadership Coach Program, facilitating life-skills development with individual members in our chapters and colonies
- Educational programming at Alpha Xi Delta’s The Workout, National Convention and Volunteer Leadership Conference
- Alpha Xi Delta’s partnership with Autism Speaks
- Grants for undergraduate Alpha Xi Deltas to attend nationally recognized leadership development conferences
- Grants to chapters and associations to educate their campuses and communities about compelling issues
- Scholarships, continuing education grants and academic achievement awards for collegiate and alumnae Alpha Xi Deltas
- Heart Fund emergency financial assistance grants to Sisters touched by natural disasters
- Awards for outstanding service enriching the lives of college students
The Alpha Xi Delta Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Gifts to the Foundation are tax deductible to the donor as allowable by law.
